Rudhrama Devi movie First Look with details

Guna Sekhar has officially announced his latest project Rudramadevi 3D based on the life and times of Rani Rudramadevi. This film will be India’s first historical stereoscopic 3D film. RudhramaDevi will be produced and directed by Gunasekhar. Ilayaraja will be composing the music for the film and Presented by Guna Team Works banner. Anushka will be leading lady of this Epic Movie.Thota Tharani handles Art department. Graphics by Kamal Kannan (Magadheera and Eega fame).

Guna Sekhar has donated a cheque for 5 lacs rupees to the victims of Nilam though CM fund. on the occasion Gunasekhar Speaking on pressmeet said, “Rudramadevi is India’s first historical stereoscopic 3D film. I wanted to do this film after the release of Arjun film. It’s very important to have a quality pre-production. That’s why I took so much of time. I was impressed by Anushka’s performance in Arundhati and decided to cast her as Rudramadevi. Eega proved that you don’t need to have a star in film to make it a blockbuster. Rajamouli has made us all proud. I am also producing Rudramadevi as it’s an inspiring subject. I am announcing the film today as tomorrow is Anushka’s birthday. Lot of producers have shown keen interest on producing this movie. But I am keen on producing it. I have lot of creative freedom and ability to choose artists and technicians as per the demand of the script. Dr. Mudigonda Siva Prasad, MVS Prasad, Thota Prasad and Madhubabu who have grip on history are assisting in script work. Costumes and sets are getting ready. There is no risk in producing this movie. I am never satisfies as a director so far. I haven’t made a film that justifies my standard so far. But I am sure that Rudramadevi is a visual feast. This is the first time I am working with the maestro Ilayaraja.The budget of this film is the remuneration of all our technicians. Nobody knew about the greatness of Alluri Seetaramaraju till that movie is released. Likewise, Rudramadevi’s greatness and patriotism will be known to the people after watching this movie.”

Rani Rudrama Devi (Telugu: రాణి రుద్రమ దేవి) (1259−1289) was one of the most prominent rulers of the Kakatiya dynasty on the Deccan Plateau, being one of the few ruling queens in Indian history. She was born, as Rudramba, to King Ganapathideva (or Ganapatideva, or Ganapathi Devudu). As Ganapathideva had no sons, Rudramma was formally designated as a son through the ancient Putrika ceremony and given the male name of Rudradeva. When she was only fourteen years old, Rani Rudramma Devi succeeded her father. Rudramadevi was married to Veerabhadra, Eastern Chalukyan prince of Nidadavolu Despite initial misgivings by some of her generals who resented a female ruler, she suppressed both uprisings within Kakatiya territory and incursions by neighboring kingdoms with the help of others, most notably Gona Gonna Reddy. An able fighter and dynamic ruler, Rudramba defended the kingdom from the Cholas and the Yadavas, earning their respect. She was one of very few female rulers in south India during her time. Rani Rudramma Devi ruled from CE 1261 or 1262 until CE 1295 or 1296.

Among Rani Rudramma Devi’s accomplishments during her reign was the completion of Warangal Fort, begun by her father, in the Kakatiya capital of Warangal (one stone hill). Parts of the fort are still standing, including examples of distinctive Kakatiya sculpture.She is the greatest queen of India,considering the number of years of the reign,area of the kingdom,administrative and military capabilities and the general prosperity of the populace during the reign.

Legend has it that due to her upbringing as a boy, Rani Rudrama was not much a connoisseur of music and art, but she was quite taken by a form of Shiva Tandavam – Perini which was extinct, but brought back by Dr. Nataraja Ramakrishna. She found this dance more of an exercise to the soldiers and had it made part of the training of the royal force.
